Between producing her own artwork and planning and teaching at Oswego, Lacey is staying busy as she begins her career as an artist, leaving little time for endeavours outside of work.

Lacey's work flows as she sketches in facial details with pastels on her current project about communication disconnects between people.

Lacey's current project features abstract portraits based off the disconnect and technical divide in communication often occurring between people using online programs such as Skype.

Being a creative is far different from the average 9-to-5 job, Lacey says, in that artists are never really away from work, particularly when the studio is also home. Small breaks to read and walk her dogs become very important parts of her day, she added.
